Anyone know a 'tiel breeder in southern Louisiana?

Hi,
It's been a really long time since I've been here, and at the moment, I'm at my wits end.

In a matter of 7 months, I lost my 1 year old cockatiel Isis when she flew out the open door while I was in college. I then had a blue Pacific Parrotlet who was killed by a snake (yeah, a wild snake) in my bedroom. My Lady Gouldian finch was also killed.

My brother has been wanting a cockatiel, and now I'm thinking I'm ready to have another cockatiel. It's been well over a month now since I lost Piper and I feel lost without one of the more intelligent and larger species of birds.

I have two zebra finches, and 2 diamond doves, but they're not exactly tamable (I was given them at an age when they had already gone too long without being handled to realistically work with them.)

Does anyone here know of a bird breeder/aviary in southeastern Louisiana, or someone who might know of someone?

Maybe check out Petfinder? There might be a rescue nearby .

I lost my two finches last night to an idiot who sprayed Axe right by their cage at our party. The birds were closed off in a bedroom and the rooms were partitioned off so the guests wouldn't go in them and the guest still went in and wound up poisoning my tiny little finches!

Then, my boyfriend went and surprised me with a cockatiel I had seen at Petco and liked the look of. He's no more than 6 months old and quite gorgeous. I'll post some pictures in another thread later.

I have an awesome boyfriend and a beautiful new cockatiel to love.
