Is your fid a chewer?

What is their favorite to chew? Wood, plastic, paper, etc

Do they destroy their toys? Or do they play nicely with them?

She loves wood & paper, those seem to be he rfavorite right now. She likes leather also though.

As far as being nice or destroying her toys.... it's about 50/50

Dory, an African Grey loves to shred paper! I'm talking tons of paper :-)
Max, an Umbrella Cockatoo loves to chew wood and turns his toys into sawdust!

I have a large assortment of birds and most like to chew something.
I have tiels and budgies that like to shred paper. I also have Lovebirds that like to splinter popsicle sticks or shred paper.

I don't usually give them plastic toys for chewing. Their plastic stuff is used as training aids or for foot toys.

Only a few of my guys don't chew stuff.

Pony and Taffy looove shredding cardboard boxes, tiny ones of course. They also chew on wooden toys and tassles. It's so cute to watch! And Taffy also likes chewing on his feet...

the lovebird chews up the paper at the bottom of her cage. Our parakeet family chew up paper and food. My pigeons don't chew they just peck it apart.

My budgies love twizzling things in their beaks and well, yes, just destroying things really!!

They love tassles, aren't that impressed with leather (though only recently introduced that toy) and they really like rope. They will 'have a go' with anything, even acrylic toys, they're not fussy!!

Lil is definitely the 'worst' - she's never still and just moves round the cage from one toy to another playing and 'attacking' them all. They have newspaper and bird sand on the floor of the cage and she likes newspaper shredding too.

All of them particularly like the 'Shredders' I got them (woven palm leaves in a roll, you cut some off and tie it in the cage), and they last ages. I gave them some fresh yesterday but put the 'old' bits on the floor and Lil was playing for ages on the floor just picking up the different bits and playing.

The boys spend more time 'yattering' and chirruping, burbling away, so they have less time to spend destroying. The boys like the mirrors better though.....
