Cockatiel Help

A cockatiel flew into the playground area of the school I attend yesterday.

I posted a note in the lost pets - if anyone knows someone in Maryland (Anne Arundel county) who is missing one, we might have it.

Anyways, my question was, I have two keets and am not really used to cockatiels. I already have him in a bigger cage and I got cockatiel seed and a bigger perch for him. Is there anything else I should do for him?

Also, is there any definite way to sex cockatiels?

first, dont have him too close to the keets. He may be harboring an unknown illness or he may have feather mites.

Am I to understand that you already have the bird?

I can look on the 911 parrot alert yahoo group to see if one was lost recently. you may want to run an ad in the local paper, some do it for lost pets for free.


email me at foundinrolls@netscape.net with as much info as you have. The name of the school for example. Color patterns, etc.

Once I have that, I'll see what I can find out

Yes, we saw that ad in the local paper. That, unfortunately, doesn't match Salem's description.

I've posted info in several areas, I'm just a bit adverse to posting too much info as someone might just want a well tamed cockatiel for free.
