Critter i need your help

hey critter i may be off to rescue a pet store budgie, when i was there the other day(sunday), I watched a budgie get bit by another and start bleeding everywhere! like lots of blood, i grabbed her and ran to the back of the store where i gave her to a lady who put some stuff on it to stop her bleeding, i had blood all over my hand she was on. i went back yesterday and it's not hard to tell the one it is, shes back in with the 40 other budgies looking very lethargic(sp?) and just sitting in a corner with her head near the ground, she had a big scab on her foot but i dunno how long she'll last in the shop, the others are picking at her and i'm prolly gonna get her out of that situation and into a quite home, but i have to ask you how do i get her well, i had planned to get a heating pad for under the cage and keeping a blanket over half the cage, and just make sure shes eating and drinking

hopefully you can give me a few tips

Be careful, they may have started attacking her because she is very sick already, especially if they have all started picking at her. The pet store should have her separated from the other ones just becuase she is making the other one's just as sick. Usually if one has it they all have it. I doubt that even if you brought it home and had it under your care it sounds like it might not survive and would definitely need immediate vet care. Also it could have been compromised by how much blood it lost. Birds do not contain that much blood in their little bodies and even though it doesn't seem like much to us it is a lot to them. Many times birds with die due to blood loss from an injury.

I know this sounds bleak but in the world of pet stores it usually is. I don't mean to make your decision harder but I just wanted you to be aware of the worst case scenerio. Good luck with what you decide.

yeah i'm aware of the scenerio but i would still feel better that if she had to die should would be in a relaxing ,calm atmosphere warm and undisturbed =(. there picking at her, she still fights back, she was fine prior to the injury so i assume it's just from blood loss
