Finch putting his head back and falling down

Hi,
I work at a pet store here, and theres a little finch that my boss is letting me take home to see if I can make him better. Hes a cute little Paradise Whydah Finch, he was fine right up until about two or three weeks ago and then he started putting his head back on his wings, and almost losing his balance, sometimes actually losing it and falling on the bottom of the cage. We gave him a vitamin/mineral stone and have been scraping it over his food thinking it might be a defiency, and also gave him a few days of antibotics and some apple juice. He seems a little better, but still doing it pretty regularly. What do you think I should do to help him?
Thanks for any advice

Not a bird person and have no idea but something is wrong with the poor thing! find out where the store gets its birds and definetly take it to a vet,if the cost is on the store perfect ,but likely you will have to pay and then hopefully get to keep it for free.

good luck

I just thought I would update this. We never did find a vet that would look at him, but I researched other forums and talked to other people and the main thing that they said would help is vitamin D from natural sunlight so I placed him in the warmest room of the house and right in the window and has been doing excellent ever since. It must have only been probably about a month after I posted that, that he stopped, and it will be a year in March and *knock on wood* has showed no signs of it whatsoever!
