Found baby bird. Need help identifying species and some other stuff

The starling by the way, lives happily also with a golden retriever in the house. You just have to be ok with the poop (as with any bird.)

Lol well im not new to the forums, but i thank you for the welcomes. I dont think we have starlings in New Jersey. I dont think he's a robin tho, he is really just too small. Im gunna try to record a video of him eating. Its the cutest thing ever. Mouth open and chirping. I love that when he poops, he makes sure its not in his nest, he poops before and after eating. I just got dont feeding him. He's sleeping now.

I may not be able to let him back into the wild because he has something wrong with his neck. Its constantly tilted and he has bad balance, but than again he is a baby. Im playing it by ear. I think he's imprinting, but im trying to limit touching

I would wait till he was a little older to find out what kind of bird he is, and if you are taking care of him than that's great. You seem to know what you are doing, I think you will be a good "mother." Or father.
