Hello...update on my Pigeons
Hello, here is an update on my family's pigeons. We have separated them now so that they will not have any more eggs this year. (It is bad for them to have eggs near snake season) We have decieded since we are trying to raise just white pigeons that we would let Oreo (Ferret's Mama) who has some black, just be a foster parent, that way we wouldn't have any more darker color pigeons. We have also enlarged our pigeon loft. Well, hope you enjoyed the update.

Upload the pics to a site like photobucket Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket & when you upload to there copy& paste the code that begins with [IMG] ...
How are pigeons as pets? Can they be kept in a barn like setting like chickens?
I'd love info on them =]
& Now you know how....post pics!!!

We don't really keep them as pets, i guess. We mostly raise them to let go and fly away and since they are homing pigeons they come back. I would really like for us to start racing but i don't think that will happen in the near future!

Pigeons are wonderful creatures. Males can be aggressive though...Personal experience, there! I hand fed 2 of them myself last August.

Males are totally aggresive! One of ours (we call him Grouchy man) will fight with the other birds when they are trying to eat and chase them around!  poor birds!

My male pigeon, named Toad, attacks anything, including his mate. He really can hurt a hand! But the girl, Muffin, is really sweet...

My pigeons are homing pigeons, so they will always come home to where they were born. So, when you buy pigeons you can't let the ones that you buy out because they will go back to their original home. You have to let them breed and then let the ones that have been born at your house go.
