2. what should I do about the next door neighbours 5 cats?
Build a run with enough height for them to flap about
3. How often can they be kept in the house?
i wouldnt recomend keeping thme in a house they often poo alot
4. As experianced owners could you tell me what it's like keeping a chicken, ups and downs of keeping them, are they loving, good companions ect... ect...
they can be friendly but they need to be handled at a young age but they can get in moods where they can peck a bit.
And anything else you can tell me, general knowledge and stuff like that... thanks!!
general knowledge they like corn i got my first batch of egg when i was four so we hatched them and got my favourite buffy the orange hen i am know 13 and just bough another batch of eggs today 21 days and counting to go.

Only one of them hatched another that had a chick inside was crushed my the mum. The baby si nwo quite big but likes toes (N) Have you thourght about what breed you might be getting because it depends on what you want them for different b reeds are better at different things like some are good for eggs and some for meat and some for both =D

hmmm chickens lol I was thinking about getting some silkie bantams well I really just wanted 1 that I could keep in the house, but then they wouldn't ship them in groups smaller then 5 and I have no place for 5 chickens, and that was the only place that could sex them correctly from a young age. no one around here keeps silkies =/ I would still want to get one but Im not sure what harm it would do to the chicken to keep her alone
