For all bird owners that live in Southern California or Las Vegas, NV:

END (Exotic Newcastles Disease) has spread to Las Vegas and the city is now under a mandatory bird lock down. The Dept of Ag will be attempting to contact bird owners in LV. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!! Do not give them any info - offer to have your bird tested. There are a lot of stories of people who have had their bird(s) destroyed by the Dept of Ag THEN tested. So Cal has been dealing with this for awhile but this is new for LV. If you need more info please go to: www.toolady.com then go to the Macaw message board for a list of all cities/counties that are affected and what to do if you are in the contaminated area.

Thanks for the heads up, Jodi. Las Vegas is a long way from FL, but Bubba is going there next week (and if sees a bird available, he'll pet it!). I'll tell him to keep his hands to himself - for more than one reason!
