Macaw pics
Well, I'm new here so I thought I would introduce one of my babies. This is Toby, a Harlequin Macaw. He is only 7 months old and is just starting to talk. He is my pride and joy!!

He's beautiful! I love Macaws - but will admit to being a bit more "respectful" of them than of some of their smaller brothers! Guess that's 'cause most macaws I've known have belonged to someone and don't want anyone else getting into their territory!
Is this your only bird? I have an Eclectus and a parrotlet and am in the process of weaning the oldest living 'tiel that's still being handfed that was supposed to be a present for C'mas for my parents. This bird is absolutey spoiled rotten and gives that "baby cry" for hours - even while she's eating out of her food dish!
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone!!
He is my only bird (so far ). He is A LOT of work and requires tons of attention so I don't think I could handle another birdie right now. Someday I would love to get a Grey or an Amazon or an Eclectus.
Critter, do you have any pics of your Eclectus?

If you look in the Paw Talk store, he's the one bird on the shirts, etc. He's famous! (and has a great vocabulary)

Welcome aboard, harlequins are so pretty... and boy do I know about that macaw territory thing. I moved one of my lizard cages out into my macaw's room briefly while cleaning and my macaw had an absolute fit. Some other -THING- in his space. Oh my.

Oh Rav, your B&G is beautiful!!! What a cute pic!!! Yes, Toby also thinks everything is HIS even if it's not is HIS space. And everything is HIS to chew on, disassemble or at least to throw on the floor!
How old is your B&G? What is his name?

His name is Twink and he's going to be 2 years old in March. I got him as a baby and hand raised him... he's incredibly friendly and so bonded that I can lay him on his back and cuddle him like a baby.

Twink is gorgeous. Seems like I see more B&G's as pets than any other macaws. A friend had a green wing who was an absolute demon - with everybody but her!
They are such magnificent, regal looking birds.
Thanks for sharing Twink with us, Rav!

Here's Henry
This isn't quite as "formal" as his other photo - this one was taken while I was recovering from that stupid blood clot and he would come visit to see what I was eating!

That picture proves the well-known fact that birds don't photograph well if you are looking straight at them! But he certainly was protective of me during that time. A home health nurse had to come in and take blood and we would have to cover her up when she started to touch me. He'd love to have had a bite of her!
