Parakeet's clipped wings are not growing back..

I have a parakeet (Pet-Co purchased) that we bought quite young in July. His wings were clipped very short and they are not growing back. Is it possible that they were cut too short and will now never grow back? We let our birds fly free in the house and it is a terrible shame that he has to sit quietly while the rest zoom around all day. Does anyone know if it is possible for wings to be permenently damaged by clipping? He had a misadventure with one of my dogs about 3 weeks ago and lost a lot of tail feathers at that point but those are growing back just fine..it is his wings that show no growth.

no the wings will be growing back some times being clipped will wait until it molts again before they come back in time is the key factor here , she or he will be able to fly again maybe 6 months to a year but she will fly mean time give her plently of love she will be happy with it

My parakeet had extremely short wings too when we got him. It took about five months for the wings to grow in for the most part. Just last month he got enough feathers to be able to fly fully.

That is very encouraging...we have had him about 3 months so far...hopefully we won't have to wait much longer.
Thanks,
HB
