Pedro
Here is a picture of Pedro, my quaker parrot. When I first got him he was an ornery lil bird but now we are the best of friends.

How cute! My experiences with Quakers has mostly been - ummmm- not positive. That sounds diplomatic, doesn't it? I don't dislike them at all, but the only two I have really spent any time with seem to think they were earrings and I didn't really want to have a bird attached to my ear by his beak! But I know that they are usually sweet to their owners and the breeder birds I've worked with just try to stay out of the way.
Words? I know these guys are talkers!

He has never made himself into earrings, however he tried becoming a ring! Yes, I did say ouch and a few other choice words...
Words:
(sing to the tune of "I'm a lil Teapot")
"I'm a lil quaker short and stout,
open up my cage and let me out.
Better pick me up or else i'll squak,
rub my tummy and then i'll talk."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
kissing noises followed by "pretty bird"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"here kitty kitty kitty" (and all 4 do come to see what he wants)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"where's Pedro?" and "where's Katy?" and "where's Jewel?" followed by "PEEKABOO"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
laughs
~~~~~~~~~
"step up"
~~~~~~~~
We are working on love you... oh how i want to hear him say that after all the h e double hockey sticks he's put me through.

My Eckie says "I love you" and gives kisses (he has a large vocabulary - couldn't begin to think of all he says right now!). One day I had him on top of his cage while I was in my room and he flew down and got turned around and was walking down the hall. I picked him up and as soon as I set him back in his cage he looked me right in the eye and said "I love you". Better than a thank you any day!
I love the little song! How cute! And don't we get silly when we talk to these guys?

Before Henry decided he wanted to live in the bedroom, he was closer to all the "action" near the tv, computer, etc. Wallis was in one of the chairs dozing then Henry would yell "Wallis". She'd sit up, look around to see who was calling her then lay back down. So he'd do it again. It was really funny, because she was so confused.
