And the new baby - no name yet but does have a sweet face instead of the "hawkish" one some Senegals have!

So glad to hear Frosty's home - it's great that you caught the problem in time, and he's ok now !!

The Senegal is a HUGE little love bird! Has to climb up your neck and snuggle in your hair. Frosty is still a "person" bird; I was afraid she'd lose that being away. And she refused her hand-feeding last night so she may finally be weaned!! But 3 a day on the Senegal for a couple of weeks until we start cutting back.

No name for that baby yet. It'll come!

Frosty is still going to Mom, but will probably be with us until May. We're going to Cancun and Mom and Dad are coming down to "babysit" for us, so I think they'll pick him up then. Dad doesn't talk on the phone much, but Mom is really excited about getting the bird.

Pip still loves to nibble on fingers. Does you parrotlet get out of the cage much? I've talked to people who have them that practically live in their shirt pockets, etc., and Pip will snuggle some. I'm not sure if he's still trying to figure out his place around everything else being so big compared to him or if that's just the way he is. I love to listen to him chatter in his cage - it's almost like having one of those waterfall things in the house. I also have to keep reminding myself that he's only about 4 months old; seems like I've had him that long!

For some reason none of my birds like to venture out of their cages on their own. My parakeet WILL NOT come out of his cage under any circumstance (I think he is agoraphobic) My parrotlet occasionally comes out but if there are any strangers around she freaks out and hides She likes the "pouch" which is the same concept as a sugar glider bonding pouch and is good because then you know exactly where your birdie is at all times when with you. And she also likes her little play stand a little more venturous. My senegal likes his cage or me and thats it! Unlike most people with curious birds mine could care less what is around them. I have tried putting my senegal on the floor to roam but about 30 seconds later I feel him stepping onto my big toe. My birds are nothing like they are supposed to be, the little wierdos!

BTW Critter, have you decided if your senegal is a boy or girl - or are you going to have "it" tested?

Cool

I'll have DNA testing done to be sure.

Henry (and most Eclectus) loves to walk around. He'll come out of the cage if you reach in for him and likes to be held and give kisses but we aren't allowed to touch his back. If we forget to close the door or forget that we've left him on top of the cage we'll hear those big old feet flopping down the hall. One day I picked him up and took him back to his cage. He looked a bit panicked and when I sat him in there he said "I love you". I think he was afraid he was lost!

Tomorrow we're going to introduce the senegal to the dremel. Those little toenails stick to everything and I think if I can get him used to me doing his nails this early it will be a good thing later on.

I just handed out veggies to everybody (except the sen.) and they are all chowing down. Gets really quiet when treats are handed out!
