Ya, the talloning happened with a small screech owl though. Lucky for me. They are a bit harder to hold on to with leather gloves. (unless they're jessed) With the larger birds there's just more bird to hold on to. It does get a little more complicated with my job though because we are treating these large birds medically. Sooo sometimes no matter what you do you get clawed and bit etc... you just learn and add new techneiques to your handling. Was once talloned to the bone, in the fore arm...now you'll never see me retrieve a large bird with out "elbow" length leather gloves.
