rescued a bird - Paw Talk

I was driving to school..when in the middle of the road there was a baby bird..I pulled my car over..waited for cars to pass and scooped up the little bird...it has feathers but is still helpless...what should I do? I was thinking of raising it and freeing it

I inspected the bird and it has mites! Whats the best way to get rid of them?

If it have feathers its a fledgling.You should get it to a Bird Rescue A.S.A.P as in most places its illegal to possess a wild animal.

Most wild birds do have mites or at least babies I picked up have.

So get it to a rescue A.S.A.P and keep it warm.

Ive taken it to my vet who took the bird in, I hope the little guy makes it
At least it didnt get squashed by a car

the vet is the best bet..you can get sprays for mites.
if you raise it then let it free it may not be able to survive..
you could give it to a bird snctuary..
if you want to keep it then find out what bird its is and get it a cage and some correct food..good luck

Im one of those people that will pull over and take a hit animal into my car...I remember when I was going to my first class in college, I saw a ground squirrel that was laying on the side of the road and as a semi drove over it..it blinked its eyes...I immediately pulled over and took him in and drove him to a vet an hour away...what I cant believe it that some people will hit an animal and not even bother to see if it's ok or even try to help it...sometimes Im late for my classes bc I take the time to stop and help
