Hello Everyone! I'm kind of new here and have enjoyed reading all of your posts. I thought that I would share a recipe that Soc my B&G really loves. I think that it would be good for most parrots. I hope that your bird buddies enjoy it!
Sweet Potatoe Nut Balls
1 large sweet potato cooked until soft
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup raisins
1 mashed banana
1 cup fresh or frozen mixed vegetables
1 cup diced apples
1 1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal, corn flakes or granola cereal
unsweetened fruit juice
In a large bowl mix together all of the ingredients with enough unsweetened fruit juice to be able to form the mixture into small balls. Place the sweet potatoe nut balls in a closed container and store in freezer. Defrost before serving.
P.S. I named this recipe after Soc because he is a Sweet little Nut Ball! LOL
