The Boys - Paw Talk

Henry is totally smitten with Capn Sweets (and who isn't, right?) The second his cage door is open he heads straight to Sweets' cage and climbs up. Contrary to how some of these pix may look they aren't fighting; Henry is actually trying to feed Sweets!

As you can tell, Sweets has grown to be a pretty big boy; and we always thought Henry was big!

Last one, I promise. But I do have a good idea for all you talking bird people. I'm working on "You're so pretty" so that the birds will be telling me that I'm pretty! (Heck, nobody else around here will!)

Sharon, they are definitely buds! Sweets isn't quite too sure about it, but Henry will stand and talk to him in a soft voice "It's okay." Or maybe Henry is just a dirty old man!!

Hey! At least I'm not teaching him "Mama, your butt looks smaller today!" Ha! Maybe I should start that one too....

Critter, the boys look good. Capn sure seems to be growning up fast. How old is he now? That's great that they get along so well. It's about time you get some pictures up here!!!

Henry is full grown (about 4 yrs old). Sweets hatched at the end of February so he's still pretty much of a big old baby Huey who doesn't realize he's so big.

Isn't that neck a hoot? Oh, he can stretch it out to look at something!

Their cages are across the room from each other right now, but Sweets will be moving across the room soon.

My TAG used to say "Where's Mama's Boy? Here I am!!" (complete with Southern accent). Sweets isn't really saying much yet, just making some noises.

Hmmmm ... I've never thought about teaching Eeph to say something to me that was about me (excuse the Krissy Snow syndrome there) - but the whole world knows how we talk to him. Bet my neighbors think I'm reeeeeaaallly nutso.

So, Critter - is Sweets neck unusual then ? Cuz it sure looks funny - he's so cute though

Doesn't Eeph ever stick his neck out - or stretch it? Sweets was just looking around, trying to figure out what Henry was gonna do next. If he's just chillin' it isn't so giraffe-like!

My Mom gave me the idea from a book she has - I've always done the standard "pretty boy" or "pretty bird" but she put it in my head to go for "Aren't you pretty". Worth a try!

I have tried for 3 years at least to get Henry to say "Mama's green bird" but he will not do it. Talks about being Daddy's bird all the time and will w-h-i-n-e "MaaaMaaa". He's silly.

Sweets is exceptionally big for a gray - maybe he carries most of his height in his neck and that's why he looks funny for you. Hmmm. Now that you've made fun of my baby I guess that means I won't invite you to come and see him.
