My Mollucan Cockatoo's cage is near the TV. The cage door opens down onto the top of one of the dog's kennel, which sits right next to the TV. From the top of the kennel, the bird can watch TV. She's only interested when there are other parrots or predators.
One time in particular, we were watching footage of a falcon diving, and it flew off the edge of the screen closest to her. She gave a loud scream and took a header right off the kennel onto the rugs below it. There are several layers down there to catch droppings (and falling cockatoos). So no harm was done to anything but her ego.
She climbed halfway up the corner of her cage and gave alarm cries everytime the falcon was shown for the rest of the show.
One of my dogs is also very attentive to the TV, especially if their are other dogs running on it.
One time, our dog vet was on TV, and both dogs were attentively sitting in front of it watching her be interviewed.
...and my wife says they could care less anytime I've been on TV. That's loyalty for you!
