Wanted to share!
Here are a few baby duck pictures.I went out of town, to a beautiful little town called Old Perlican here in Newfoundland and stayed for a few days. There is a family there who have a little duck pond with ducks and chickens. This year when I visited, there were some babies!Enjoy!

How cute! How come there are two different colored babies? Different breeds? Or Male/Female colors..?

I am not really sure, I am guessing breeds...as there were a few different ducks there, most are mix breeds tho.

Funny how the pekin (white duck)'s babies are hanging out with the mallard's babies. The pekin is far away from her little yellow ducklings.

Actually the pekin is male and the little yellow babies are the "mallard's" babies. She isn't full mallard tho, she is a mix. Most of the ducks that this family has are mixed!

I see. so the pekin bred with the mallard mix hen, and of course, they created some yellow-coloured babies. it figures. those can be considered white mallards, so as long as they keep the same shape and size as other mallards. white mallards are beautiful and rare.

I guess so.lol...I don't live out in Old Perlican, so I have no idea who breeds with who. There are a few males and a few females there and most of them are mix breeds.

I think I see some blue/chocolate swedish ducks in there too (the ones with the white bibs), though they do look a lot like they carry the general "mallard" pattern, so they could be mixed breeds. Just thought I'd let you all know that I have some duck eggs in my incubator and I hope at least a few of them hatch. I guess I'll keep you updated, as I know how much you all love baby ducks.
