I have 2 Ringneck Doves, one is a white dove who is 15yo (retired breeder) and another male, fawn standard who's now 5yo... I can't imagine my life w/o the coos in the background. But of course my Congo African Grey (currently in his terrible twos...) is in charge when it comes to the birdies... he's a stuck-up one.

Cairo (Severe Macaw) is only five months old and fairly new to the house hold. Sal (Jardines) is about a year and a half old. At the moment Cairo is clutching to being a baby so tightly that she can be a little tough to handle. Sal really isn't too sure about Cairo yet. Sal makes beautiful whistles, is starting to talk, and has been watching too much "Aladdin" and does a very good monkey impression. Cairo seems content to just "gronk".
While I really like the cuddly, almost dog-like personalities of the macaws, Jardines are wonderful as well. Sal is also a recent addition to the household and is adjusting very well. She has spent the last year in a PetsMart in a small cage very near the floor. When we first met her she was very quiet, didn't like to be touched, but would step up willingly. I think that was because she knew it was the best way for her to get out of her small, cluttered cage. After much debate we decided to bring her home figuring that she may never be much more than a cage bird but that we could at least give her a better home. Boy were we wrong! Sal is great! She is very talkative. Her favorite phrases are: "What are you doin'?", "Good Morning!", and if you forget to tell her, "Step up." She also will lay on her back for my roommate or let him scratch her head.

"God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?" God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly. "I have done something," He replied. I created You."

My own birds are a budgie, a maximillian pionus and a yellow sided green cheek conure. I am the long term foster home for a moluccan cockatoo. I am the current short term foster for a pair of budgies, two 'tiels and a painted conure. I've had a white front amazon, a blue & gold macaw, an eclectus and a rosella in my house at various times as well.
