Prolems With Siloam Springs Animal Shelter

I live I Siloam Springs, Arkansas. I had a male cat appear on my door step very healthy except he had a Cataract on his right eye. So I decided to call the Siloam Springs animal Shelter about surrendering him.. They advised me if I surrendered him they would put him to sleep. so I decided to keep him. I found it to be cruel to kill a healthy cat just because of a sight problem. I ended up naming him pappy.
