coruro

I was checking out a friend's new website today and found that she has a critter I've never heard of before, the coruro! Here's what they look like: http://www.critterconnection.cc/animals-cururo.html
She's out of town til next week so I can't ask her about them- has anyone else seen one? I saw another site that called them "saber tooth hamsters" (in response to those long teeth, I'm sure!). Anyone know anything about them??

I agree with Capn it does look like a guinea pig

I will look around the net to see if I can find any information on them

Best I can tell it's a relative of the guinea pig. I'm still looking for more information.
