Hi Everyone

I'm new here. My hamster just had babies not too long ago, and she's acting quite strange. Here's some backround info:
~She's a Russian Campells
Dwarf Hamster
~This is her third litter, she ate her first one
~She's in a huge cage
~She had 5 in this litter
She keeps going into the babies nest, chasing them out, grapping one woodchip, then she runns and sets in somewhere. She does this about 10 times in a row, all night long. Meanwhile, the babies are squeeking their heads off and trying to fend her off. Can anyone explain this behavior? Thanks!
