I seen love those tip traps, thankfully we've never had a mouse problem, so we haven't tried them, but if we did thats what i would use. I think the idea is genius But anyway, now that you have the kittens, your mouse problem could solve itself. they might leave after smelling the cats.

Thats what I hope.
My mom had wild mice and when she got cats, they totally dissappeared! So hopefully that happens here. There haven't been any signs of the mice in a long time tho.

I hate those sticky/glue traps, I don't mean to be nasty or anything but those things are THE MOST INHUMANE way to kill a mouse. The only thing worse are springloaded leg hold traps. Do not buy those glue traps they are horrible, horrible things. (steps off soapbox)

Well I use those traps, so deal with it. I'm tired of hearing people ramble on about how much they hate them, and how bad they are for mice. I'm after catching 7 mice in those traps, and all 7 were perfectly healthy when i found them, and released them. I have had pet mice, and i know what could possibly harm them. I only place the traps on a mouses running trail, and only once i've seen them. Also, every mouse i've caught was caught while i was watching over the traps.
Long story short, if you know what you're doing, THE MICE ARE FINE.

well... maybe there's a misunderstanding here because i don't think you could "free" a mouse from a sticky trap. the point is that the things are so sticky that they can't move, and that's why they're so inhumane. the mice starve to death instead of being killed instantly, and not only that but they can rip their skin off, suffocate themselves, or try to gnaw their own limbs off to try to get free.

I hate having wild rodents in or near my house. At our old house, Mom would bang on the wall at 10PM trying to make whatever was in the garage chewing through the wall shut up. It was making so much noise, we think it was a rat, but it could've been a mouse too.
All I can say is good luck!
I've got no idea.

I live in jersey and I used to work in a grocery store, and in the winter and fall months mice would come into the store, we had little metal box traps, if u could get a couple of those and set up peanut butter or something that u know they will eat, then that's a safe way to catch them without harming them or ur pets or ur children. u just set the box like under ur sink or where u know they will search for food, hopefully this is useful info for u, and I wish u all the luck.

Okies...I am fed up and tommorrow I am going to buy some snap traps. At least they are quick.
I can't find humane traps anywhere and am against glue traps and poison. My cats are not doing their job and neither are the dogs.Last night I caught a mouse IN the garbage eating away.I tried to catch it to put it outside, but it was too fast for me.It ran right by the dogs and cats and of course the cats were asleep and the dogs didn't care about this fast little critter.
And I JUST seen another one run across the floor and go into the closet where I keep my animal's hay and whatnot.I ALMOST caught him and would of put him out,but he tricked me and vanished.
I am fed up.I cannot risk my animals getting sick or diseases and while a snap trap may not be the "answer"...at least I will get rid of some of them.I don't know how many there are...but like I said,I seen one last night and tonight and for all I know,it is the same one...but I am so annoyed right now.
Stupid old buildings!
It doesn't help that I have pet mice and food here which are obviously attracting the wild mice.I keep the pet food in sealed containers...but I still fear my pets are gonna catch something.

You need to get a trap that kills the mice, or kill them after you get them into the trap.
It's no use putting them back into the wild. They WILL find their way back, if you don't drive like a mile or two from your house!
I can't find any pics of the ones I just got, but they are like big black plast-boxes. Not like those in metal that don't always kills the animal...
One of them caught a very big mouse. About 10 cm (not counting the tail)...

I know it can be really hard to dispose of wild rodents. I cried and cried when my parents had to put traps out on our back porch because a mouse got back there. Maybe you can get someone else to check the traps for you and dispose of the mouse. The most important thing it to check the traps frequently so they don't suffer (with snap traps). It's really for the best. Wild rodents can carry some pretty bad diseases. I really empathize with your situation though. Once you own rodents it's really hard to deal with this kind of thing. You're doing the right thing though. Your daughter and pets are just too important .
