Just got back from the pet store...

So I went to this old pet store that I use to go to whenever I was very small today. I figured I would stop by to see if it had changed and the rats INSISTED that I buy them some new toys and treats

So I walked in and saw that the hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, reptiles, EVERYTHING were in 10 gallon fish tanks with separators in them. I walk over to the hamsters and see four plastic separators in the tank with 5 gerbils piled into one, three hamsters in another, mice in the other,and a guinea pig in the last.
I look and see the hamster sign that says HAMPSTERS. They can't even spell it! They had a poor bunny in a VERY small tank that was also accompanied by a baby guinea pig. The lady walked by and I asked her if she had any rats and took me to the back. The rats were so cute! There were about three of them in a ten gallon tank with pine and no food. It was so sad. Whenever one of the employees walked back I talked loudly to the person whom I was on the phone with and said, "I am at this pet store and the animals are in very small cages and they can't even spell hamster correctly! Poor rats had no food either!.... What? No you should not buy your animal from here, it's terrible." The lady gave me a rude look and I left.
I wish I could help those poor guys, I think I am going to file a complaint.

So I went back today and spoke with the manager (The manager also owns the place). I told him everything I thought of that store and I was going to file a complaint against that pet store. He told me he did not have the time to change the cages for now and I told him that if he does not have the time to change the cages then how the HECK does he have time to run a pet store?! After he stopped making excuses that were off the wall he just listened and said ok to everything. The other employees just stood around and listened and a customer came up to me after I was done speaking. He asked if this pet store was really that bed and I told him to take a look around. He and I both left and that was the end of that. I feel proud of myself for doing the right thing. I am tired of being one of the people that complain and do nothing anything about it. Yay me! lol

I went in there today. They had separated the bunny and the guinea pig and put them in bigger cages. They said they were in the "process" of putting the other animals in bigger cages and getting everything moved

I told them I will be back Monday and I hope to see improvements. The other employees did not look too happy whenever they saw me but HEY! truth hurts sometimes hehe.
The birds were in TINY cages though. There were several of them smooshed together with hardly any place to move. It was horrible. I am going to go back Monday because I am leaving out of town Wednesday and have to work tomorrow.
