Cute! I have never seen a jird before but they are cute! They look like gerbils (: And your dog is adorable as well. Some type of a spaniel? Springer Spaniel?

Jirds and gerbils is kinda the same, but two different species

Yeah charlies an english cocker, reggies a Shaws jird and yeah

when i bought reggie i also bought his brother Moss, he died in may, its still kinda raw when i think about it and i know reggie misses him a lot he stopped eating, they are social animals thats why i bought 2 related males but i dont think i can really buy another, reggies sooo gentle and it'll be hard to find another with such a nature as there arent many breeders over here

thats a cute little critter never heard of them I dont even think they have one in the pet shops around here or know anyone that breeds them.
I love English springers I have a feild type mix 95 % and my parents have a show tpy. There looking for a show male to breed her with. she had her papers and 3 champs in her line. she is 4 and they want her to have at lest 2 litters before they get her fixed.
They look so much like gerbils I know their related but dont know if they are leage in PA were I live i know Suger Gliders here are not and chimpmunks but I see them all the time on classified adds. Exspecially Pennswoods.net classifileds.

You could try joining them... I think there's a good chance to find others with shaws you can talk with.

Not saying you should stay away from this place

Sometimes it's just nice to have a place you can rely on for info

And then you can come back in here, and talk about your shaws!

Yes, we need more pics! Reggie is adorable! I've never even HEARD of a Jird before this topic. I thought at first that you had mis-spelled "Bird" as "Jird" LOL.

Thanks guys, yeah a lot of people first thought i had a bird they were oh you've got a new bird? No no a jird a jird lol they are just like very big gerbils, he's being camera shy just recently i havent been able to get some good ones just yet but i will

A just got two male jirds as well! Grats on making a wonderful choice for a pet
