Rodent identification

Hi there,
I hope I am using this eervice in the right way cos it is all a bit confusing. Anyway I am looking for someone that would be able to help me identify a small rodent spotted whilst visiting my brother in France. We were told he was a dormouse but he doesn't look like a dormouse I have in a book!

What sort of a dormouse is that Wendy? Doesn't look like my African Dormice. It is kind of chunkier and has bigger ears than mine.

Oops, I forgot about this thread...there are heaps of species of dormouse, the one I've shown..err..forget now!
