I have 2 richardson ground squirrels. I let them out for 2 hours everyday, and thier cage is 5 levels, but still they seemed restless. So I got them a wheel, and one is happier now and runs on it alot, but his brother only chews on the cage bars non stop. He will not run on the wheel or even chew on anything or play with toys unless it is food. His head is getting bald spots from constantly chewing, and I know that he would love the wheel if he just tryed it. Does anyone know how I can teach him to run on the wheel? Other than that my rgs are amazing. They love to be petted and held and even fall asleep on my lap.
Please if anyone has any suggestions on how to divert him from this behavior i would appreciate it.
