corgimom will become famous soon enough
All I have right now is 2 degus and a chinchilla.

When I was younger, I had many hamsters. I've also had a mouse (a rescued feeder), 2 gerbils, a guinea pig, and several rats.

I'd like to have rats again, because I miss having them around, but Lucas says no. He thought the rats we had were too stinky compared to other animals that we have had (or currently have).

After seeing a shepherd come in with a gunshot wound: "You know we pretty much just paid for Ein all over again." (Pats him on the head.) "I'd do it again if he needed us to."

Lesson: Remember to take time to think about what's truly important. Oh, and give your pets a hug.

Lol sorry I didn't even see this thread!

At the moment I have 5 mice and that's it as far as rodents go. I just started my rodentry. Right now we are focusing on the mice but we're suppose to be getting some gerbils in the summer.

I rescue when I can but they usually get rehomed. My big squishy manrat Kye passed away recently and I had to rehome my other three boys. They are now living in an apartment where they have free roam of the whole place. I get to visit them too.

People say rabbits are Lagomorphs, and more closely related to the horse than to rodents, because of their digestive tract.
I consider rabbits rodents because of their body structure and teeth, etc.

On that note, I have:
1 bunny foofers - Annabelle ("bun bun" pronounced like french )
and
"22" chinchillas. I say "22" because it changes ALL the time. I have 22 right now, though 1 is still at her previous owners and 2 are for sale. 8 are kits that will probably all be shown and sold except for maybe 2.

They are Lagomorphs because they have a set of teeth called "peg teeth" that are behind the front upper incisors. They are related to Pikas which look very similar to guinea pigs. I had never heard of them related to the horse, and their digestive system is quite different.

That's what the House Rabbit Society says...

True or False? Rabbits are Rodents (Answer to Pop Quiz)

Don't know if that's true or not.

That is odd... first of all, horses are not cecotrophages, like rabbits are, horses have a really small stomach in comparison with the rest of the tract while rabbit's is not that small (in comparison). The most important part of the rabbit's digestive system is the cecum while in the horse is the colon.

3 happy degus. We thought we had 3 sisters, but Lilly, Milly, and Nilly, turned out being Lilly, Milly and WILLY! So we are probably going to have more!

We have 12 dwarf hamsters right now but that's all as far as rodents although I wouldn't mind getting some rats again.

i have 5 hamsters, 2 Roborovski, 2 Russian Dwarf and a syrian but not all living in one cage obviously, the only ones living together are the Roborovski's.

i actually wouldn't mind a rat again at some point or maybe 2 more Jirds (like gerbils just bigger)

bye
