any ideas about bumps?

My son noticed on my silver poodle's face this morning that down by her lower right jaw were these little bumps. I took the poodle and looked, and sure enough she has about five to six raised red bumps. They are small in size and grouped in one area. Anybody have any ideas before I call the vet? They are not oozing anything, but you can definately feel them. I hope its nothing really bad!!

Do you get fire ants in your area? Occasionally Kali or Orion will decide to lay down on a fire ant colony outside and they get bumps like you decribed all over their bellies...Is it possible that your poodle was laying down outside and accidently put her face in an area that fire ants could have gotten her? If so, you can just clean the area with some astringent and pat it dry...it would clear up in a week or so. If that isn't possible, I would call the vet for their opinion and advice

After you mentioned that, I remember showing my husband a bump right around the dogs groin area. But they are rarely outside long enough to just squat and do their business. I dont leave them out in the yard. Hmmm, this is different. Thanks for the advice...nice to have someone who can give you ideas!

I called the vet, and was told that it is probably an allergy to either the grass, the carpet or laundry detergent. I think its the carpet, because the other day I ran a little short on carpet shampoo, so I mixed two different kinds.....I think that's what caused it.
