We had a really bad storm roll thru here a couple of hours ago and when I got home from work I noticed that there are 2
baby birds (not sure what kind) laying in my front flower garden - alive. I'm guessing that the storm blew them out of their nest. I have a big tree near the area where I found them. I looked up in the tree but couldn't see the nest and didn't find it on the ground either.
One baby is laying on his back - I can see him breathing - his little chest going up and down. The other baby is on his side and still breathing too. They have very few feathers. They look so sad & pathetic.
Is there anything I can do? Will the mom come back and get them?
I can't touch them because I'm afraid of transmitting some wild bird disease to my macaw.
Oh, I feel so bad and wish I could help them somehow.
Anyone have any ideas? Or should I just leave them be and let nature take its course?
