Blood filled ears

A few months back I took Abby, my Chihuahua, to the vet because her left ear was puffed up inside. He said she must have bumped it and caused blood to fill inside her ear. He put a drain in it and now her ear will never stand again and is crumpled but she is fine now. He told me that if I popped it myself with a needle that it would keep filling back up and I was good to come there. Now her right ear has the same thing. It cost over two hundred dollars for the vet the "fix" her ear. I don't have that money and with the money I make, won't for another four or so months to get it. My boyfriend put a pin in her ear and drained it twice now but it's still filling up but not as bad. What should I do?

My suggestion would be to call your vet and see what they suggest. Be honest about the financial situation (and in the future you might save up for something like this, as you never know what will happen) and see if they have any advice.

Please be very careful about piercing the ear, you could be introducing bacteria, leaving room for an infection which will be much more problematic.

Well, I just can't afford another bill like that so I gave her to someone who can. She got further injuries in an accident that are just too expensive. I miss her.

I'm sorry you had to give her away, but kudos to you for doing what was in her best interest. She was lucky to have an owner willing to do so.

I'm sorry you had to part with her. If you're ever in that situation again with blood-filled ears, try Homeopathic Hammamellis 30c three times daily - it should put things right in a few days (very cheap too)
