Daddy Mouse "Abducting" Babies

My daddy mouse has been taking the new babies up to the "loft". He doesn't do anything, just snuggles, but I'm worried that they won't get enough milk, as they were born just a few hours ago.

This happens often when the male is left with the female, and the best thing to do what to have taken him out before the babies were born. It's not too late to take him out, as I've heard of other breeders having this happen, and your fear is right, some of them don't get enough milk when another mouse steals them and keeps them away from mom.

Wow, that's really interesting. I never knew mice did that! I wonder why dad keeps stealing them.

He hasn't been stealing the pups lately, thank goodness. How do you post pictures?

unless you want babies right after this bunch, remove him. she can get pregnant immediatly after they are born.
