Hello, My 8 year old Dalmatian began vomiting on 12/26. I took him to the vet where he received fluid therapy. He could eat a bland diet (cottage cheese & rice) for the next day but then began vomiting again on the 28th. Back to the Vet for x-rays and bloodwork. Nothing showed up. Still vomiting off and on keeping some food down occassionally. He was not pooping but then did on the 29th. On the 30th he went back again to the vet, this time testing Bile acids, fecal, and a urinalysis. Everything has come back normal except the vet thinks his liver is a little small. She said this isn't a big deal that it could have always been like this. Interesting thing was it took the sedation medicine from the x-rays 7 & 1/2 hours to wear off. The vet now thinks that he could just have a severly upset stomach & that she's seen dogs do this for weeks off & on. He does have a slight
urinary tract infection (not showing any of the typical Dal crystals) and is taking cephelexin for that. She just gave him anti-nausea medicine to hopefully help keep some of the food down. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? The vet bills are nearing $800 for 1 week and no answers! please help.
