Hamster With Swollen Leg and Foot
Please help me! My 11 month old black bear hamster has a swollen leg and foot. She is putting weight on the leg and walking just fine. She isnt limping either. Please help me figure out what I should do

The swolling should go down after a day or two. You can take him to the vet, but, if you don't have a hamster vet in your area, then you can try to keep your hamster off of his leg. This might be kinda hard, but, I know that you can figure something out. You can try to get some pet gauze stuff and rape a little piece onto your hamster's foot. He might pull or chew it off, but, if he does, then try to find it in his cage (I doubt he will eat it), but, find it and put a new piece on his foot.

Hmm... Ive never had a hammie with a swollen leg... Id say take him to the vet.

Her legs looking the same today  but ill see how it is tomorrow. If shes not anybetter Ill talk my mom into taking her to a vet

i looked at her leg this morning and it was still swollen but it wasnt as swollen as it was the day I made this thread hopefully the swelling will stay down. does anyone know a remedy or something i could do to help the swelling go down even more?

Is it bumble foot? That is the only thing I can think of. You should keep the cage VERY clean and you should get her to the vet ASAP for antibiotics.

i had a black bear hamster, he lived for less than a year, his whole body swelled up with tumors and stuff, gah poor thing, i had him put down

I dont know what to do!!!! her leg swelled up all over again. I was just playing with her and she had no problem running away from me and me having to go catch her I dont know if I should be worried or not since shes acting normal and using the leg
