Well just an update, he is still parylized in his rear end, but he is doing better since I took him off the AB, antirobe. He was near death, and I was ready to put him down, when I force fed him water, and he ate some food after like 5 days. He still acts like he is hallucinating or something. He moves his head around a lot like he is watching something, but threre is nothing there. I don't know what to do next, I may take him to a different vet next week, to see what he thinks. His condition changes like almost daily, it is very confusing and baffling. Any ideas?? Mahalo for all your replies.

Is he at all agressive? and has he ever been in touch with another wild animal or cat of some sort? I'm not 100% sure i can't even be 50% sure i dont know the signs, but i think that rabi's actualyl can be paralizing? I know its probably a real far fetch and HOPEFULLY its not the case at all, but its just another suggestion. Definitely see another vet as soon as possible, bc if it is treatable whatever it is he is going to die from dehydration before he can be treated properly....Best of luck.

I dont believe I'd wait till next week either. Find a vet that is willing to see him immediately as this would be considered emergency care in my eyes. If this kitten is that debilitated and in pain then it needs immediate treatment.

I'd recommend going, if there are any in your area, to a university veterinary hospital or a veterinary specialist clinic. They often have access to more equipment, better tests and up-to-date research. And because of the high volume of patients they see, they are just more likely to have ideas about what can be causing problems. That's at least what I discovered when a young cat of mine got sick, presumably with FIP. We went to several vets trying to figure out what was wrong with our girl, and had the best luck with an internal medicine specialist and a holistic vet. The key point, with symptoms sounding so severe, is to find someone that will help you.

Best of luck, and do keep us all informed about what you find out.

edit: I just realized how old the original posts are...hope there was a good outcome.
