My cockatiel jumped off of a chair onto a candle holder.

She seemed fine but later started favoring her foot.

I have given her time off of it, gave her aspirin, and iced it. The bones all seem fine but she does not like it when I touch her back toe. I tried immobizing it with a ball of gauze but she was always able to wriggle out of it.

You didn't say how long it had been, or how you gave her "time off of it". Most soft tissue damage should heal over time.

You gave her aspirin??? Yikes! How did you figure he dosage? Never medicate without a vet's supervison....especially not anagesics or NSAIDs!!

Your attempts to check the bones, ice it (very bad idea with a small bird), and/or immobilize it probably caused further irritation/damage to what she had already done to it.

If you think it's taking too long to heal, and are concerned enough to try all of those things, you should be concerned enough to go to a vet. JMO

thanks bob

The aspirin and all other remedies tried were done on the advice of the vet, with specific instructions.

Thanks bob.
