My Cat is twitching and sneezing all of a sudden

I rescued Tina about 3 years ago as a kitten. She has always had her quirks which I attribute mostly to being taken away from her Mother too early. (She was abandoned when I found her).

About a year ago Tina started twitching and acting like she saw ghosts. She would run back and forth from one end of the apartment to the other to the point that I thought she was posessed. After researching her behavior on line extensively, my vet and I agreed to put her on Prozac. This seemed to help for a while.

My Fiancee was against her taking meds and reluctantly mixed it into her wet food. we eventually took her off of it and all was fine until a month ago.

All of a sudden she started up again, twitching and acting oddly. This time, however, her actions included hiding from us, excessive cleaning, sneezing and ear twitching. We took her to a new vet who said it was probably fleas. I have never seen a flea on her but agreed to the steroid shot and Advantix.

It hasnt helped and now I am so worried about her. Does anyone have advice? It breaks my heart to see Tina act like this.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

it does sound like fleas, have you given her a real good bath with flea shampoo? or take her back to the vet to check for mites and stuff, since she's not doing well

I agree with Mulder. Buy a flea shampoo, but before you pay for it, CHECK WHAT'S IN IT, because it's very important that it won't work.
