My mice!



I need help.I think my cats have fleas and I think some of the fleas are in the same room as my mice. I have seen my mice scratching and in particular Cassie who scratches like mad and gets adetated easily.What do I do?Will it hurt my mice.I'm scared!

I would call your vet, or a vet who treats rodents. They'll know what to do. My vet has always told me that it's safe to use Mycodex on rodents. That is a shampoo you can get from the vet that kills fleas and ticks.

I forgot to mention, flea shampoo only kills the fleas that are on animals. Get your cats on frontline or some other vet-provided preventative (flea collars don't work and over-the-counter flea medication can be harmful to pets as it goes through the bloodstream rather than the oil glands like the vet-provided stuff does). You may also want to fog your house for fleas b/c if your cats have them, then they are in your house.
