Ok, my turn to ask for help!!!
A young girl just came over here, she found me through a friend with chins, and her friend told her to bring this chin straight to me as I am experienced with rescues, well I have NEVER seen anything like this before, this chin, has NO Fur on the tail, from about mid back to tip of tail is COMPLETELY BALD!
She told me he stated fur bitting and just never stopped, he chewed himseld down to the skin, but the thing is it has NO hair, from my experience, fur bitting leaves some traces of hair even in it's worse forms.......
She said the vet could offer no explination, well I have this little guy here with me now, he is isolated, but I don't know what to do, I phoned the vet she took him to, and she said she is sure this is not stress related and that it is some form of unidentifiable disease.... she recommended Baytril, which I will NOT touch.... Question is, WHAT DO I DO?!
Anybody ever seen anything liek this? He is hunched up in the corner of his cage...... sigh
