Please help if you can its urgent

Hi everyone

I am handrearing 3 budgies and they are starting to fly,the smalest is the only one wich is flying well.
The smallest all of a sudden got runny faecies and I know it is deadly for a baby bird,so how can I cure it,the others don't have it and they get feed the same handrearing formular as the little one.
The little one also apeares to look thinner and he eats the same amount of food as the others.
Please help me

Janine

o.k. I'm not 100% sure here but if they are flying, shouldn't they be on some seed now? I wonder if this would help put weight on and firm up his stool? Anyone?

If you expect any illness at all, especially in a bird so young, it's time to go to the vet. With birds, by the time you notice symptoms, they're possibly very sick. My cockatiel once had a bacterial infection and a yeast infection. The only way I knew was that she was spending more time fluffed up. The vet said if I had waited any longer, she would have died, but it was otherwise completely curable.

It's a good idea to take them all to the vet for a checkup, anyway. Kill three birds with one stone, so to speak.

Good luck!

Runny poop is a sign of diarrhea. I remember my two birds getting it when they started getting free frly time. They were nervous and a little too excited so they got diarrhea. I don't know if that is the case with the babies, but take them to a vet to get them checked up just in case. Good luck.

Thanx guys for your help, sorry that I am only replying now but my computer had to be fixed.
I did have them on a seed diet but they also still needed handrearing formular.
I went to the vet with him right after I posted this thread, but the vet told me that he is not really sure what caused the direouer.
He aslso told me that it looks like that he is not going to make it.
My baby then passed away 3 days after I was at the vet with him .
The other 2 are weaned and happy and healthy I also took them to the vet and he sayed they are both heathy.
Thanx again
Kind regards
Janine

I'm very sorry for your loss. If I could offer any comfort, I would say that there was probably nothing you could do. The fact that two were thriving shows that you were doing the right things, something was just different about the third one. By the sound of it, he hid his symptoms until he was probably past all hope of saving. Birds do that, and it is one of the most frurstrating aspects of their ownership.
You did a good thing also by going to a vet. It speaks well of you that you did not complain in your post about how much more the vet bill was than the monetary value of your birds. Every experienced bird owner has lost birds for unknown reasons. The better ones learn what they can ...and then go on to treasure the ones they have just that much more.
Regards.

Thank you Mygala for your kind words they made me feel alittle better,I will miss that little guy.
I am just so confused that he passed because his siblings are absolutely fine,I guess I will never know what was wrong with him All I know is that he was a stong little bird that did not give up.
Kind regards
Jaine
