Tree frog issue *long story, sorry!*

My green tree frog is really sick, and I don't know what with or how to help him!

The past few days he was hanging out in an open corner of the tank, away from his leaves and such, so we were able to watch him easily. Early yesterday he wasn't on the glass anymore, he was on the top of the fountain. Still not terribly abnormal, that's where all the crickets hang out too (prime lunch grounds!). As we were leaving for work last night, he was sitting in the water, which we've recognised in other sick frogs just before they died too (one that was sick from the pet store, one didn't show any other signs of being sick except she spent a lot of time IN the water and then was just dead one day). He was also making hiccuping motions. So I decided to put him up in his branches by the heat lamp, being slightly paranoid, and we noticed he was really pale. about 2 seconds after I put him on the leaves (he didn't fuss when I picked him up or try to jump or anything) he started slipping off. He tried to catch himself on other leaves but slowly fell to the ground. Then he tried to get back up onto the glass and fell onto his back! Immediately his back legs stretched out fully behind him and his front legs curled up onto his chest. I was very upset because I thought he died and my fiance was consoling me for a minute. When I opened the tank to get him out he had flipped himself over. I was very happy but also very worried.

Right now he's isolated and being warmed, as well has having had (and getting more soon) a Reiki treatment, but I've noticed some strange things. He's not really lethargic, he's still trying to move around occasionally, so that's good, right? But while he's moving, he acts like a person who just had a stroke would act. His left side is being "left behind" - his back leg stays stretched out and his front leg doesn't seem to want to go to a comfortable, natural position either. I also have him in a tall (but small) issolation tank but he still sits on the bottom only. Plus he still makes the hiccuping motions and is still pale.

Can anyone help me out? I don't really have money for a vet visit until friday unless it's absolutely necessary (I could borrow if I had to), so any suggestions on what might be happening or how to keep him comfortable will be greatly appreciated!

(Also my fiddler crab died around the same time so I'm really sad)

What are the temperatures in there? Normally a heat lamp is something to be avoided when keeping amphibians. The pale color, hiccupping, and sitting in the water all point me in the direction that he overheated. If he were cold, he'd turn darker. When too hot, they turn pale. Not 100% sure this was the cause though, but so far it seems most likely.
