Fish Help Needed!!!!

I got home and checked my pets I couldn't see Santos which isn't uncommon as he loves to hide. I put the aquarium light on and he was trapped in my plastic rock orniment. I've had the orniment for about a year and have had no probs before. I feel so guilty about it I know that It's an accident but anyone with pets will know how I feel.

He has ragged his back fin so he now the middle bit of half his fin is missing and he has two patches where he has rubbed scales off one is quite big.

Is there anything I can do for him. He's still swimming about and seems ok but I'm worried about infection.

If anyone has any advice I would be very grateful.

OH i know how you feel but dont feel to badly. Like you said you have had that ornament for a while and with no trouble. But your fish have oviously grown I would of course take it out now. im sure he will be okay. If you have some Melafix you could use that to soothe him. Its an all natural treatment and will promote the healing of minor injuries. It is also effective in the control of secondary bacterial infections and subsequent fungal infections

heres a link in case your not familiar with it..Melafix: A Product Review

Thanks! I'm just sitting here watching him. He looks so ragged and forlorn. He looks like he's just done 12 rounds with Mike Tyson!!

I second the Melafix . You can also add some aquarium salt to prevent infections.

Thanks for all the help. I'm pleased to announce that he is healing nicely and fingers crossed there's no infection.
