Question

New Fish...

In my 2ft tank I have 8 mountain minnows, 2 neon tetras and 2 black skirt tetras....and I have loads of room for more. he guy I had over about my cloudy tank said that it would be OK for me to get some more fish...
well I wasnt some more neon tetras because I have so few...but does anyone have any ideas about any other kind of fish?
I was wanting something that is quite big (but not too big for the tank obviously), something that will be safe and get on with the rest of my fishies, something pretty , and I wanted it to be soliatry.
Can anyone help?

The first thing I was going to say was more neons because they are school fish and will be happier with more numbers but you already decided on that one
Next I would say maybe some dwarf gouramis? They are really pretty, good community fish and very docile. I have 5 in my tank right now. Here is a link to a site I found that has a list (with pictures) of lots of fish. Maybe you can see something you like on there. Just remember to find out if they are good community fish first!

Ooooh that links really good. Cheerz! I have got some more neon tetras now, and my riend from the local aquarium has shown me quite a few fish that will go well...and hes trying to talk me into a certain type of catfish, that will apparently do really well. Im still thinking though...because my fish are REALLY important to me and I want to do what is best for them naturally...

Glad you like the site. I use it often. What kind of catfish? Are they Cory's? Cory cats have a LOT of character. I have 2 albino corys. Heres a pic of one of my corys. (its a baby still)

I think you'd like them. They are very active and they help clean up the bottom of the tank. They eat everything that your other fish miss which reduces the ammount of food waste sitting on the bottom of the tank. They are very comical to watch.
Mine never seem to stop moving They are constantly back and forth across the front of the tank and you will see them dart up to the surface and gulp air from time to time. I think they would be a good addition too

Thats if you like them of course LOL If you dont like them, then dont get them. There are other types too. That site I showed you shows a few of the different types.

I do like them, I think they're really cute. The ones I have looked at weren't albinos though. I think I will end up getting some, because I like the look of them AND you said they have a lot of character....it's the perfect kind of fish really!!!
