piranha?

Does anyone else keep red bellied piranhas? My husband had one when we got married, and I kind of inherited him. He sits in our livingroom under the big fish tank and we feed him gold fish, but I'm wondering if there's something else we should be doing for him? I'm trying to find information, but there doesn't seem to be much available for keeping them as pets.

He got it from an exotics petstore out where we used to live, if you're wondering.

i heard you are supposed to always keep them in groups of atleast 3 seeing as they are in groups in nature. I don t kn ow too much about it, hope this helps.

I do not know alot about them, but I know many avid piranha keepers do not feed feeder goldfish as they are usually riddled with disease which can be passed to the pirahna. You may want to research alternate food sources.
