Poor Spawn
Unfortunatly due to an absent minded action on our part, Spawn has gotten fin rot I believe it must be due to the stress we put him through. One of the minnows in with him actually passed away . We put a new light bulb in his tank, thinking oh it'll be brighter, show him off better and keep the plants greener. Unfortunatly we forgot to check the temp gauge and it spiked 6 degrees in a very short period of time. And then ofcourse as soon as we noticed this we took the bulb out, put in the old one and the temp went back to normal. He now has no tail, very little dorsal fin, but his lower fins are okay for now. I am treating him daily as per the instructions. Please wish him a speedy recovery. He is a beautiful fish and does not deserve to die yet. He's a fighter though, so I am expecting a full recovery

I hope Spawn gets better, and I'm sorry about your little fishy.
I hope you have better luck getting rid of fin rot than me!

Minnows meaning Rosy Reds? They're pretty quick to 'spread the disease'..... what kind of fish is spawn? Some are REALLY GOOD at recovering... I had some rainbow fish that looked REALLY BAD..we're talking total loss of fins and they recovered fantastically! All of them are still swimming around in my 180g right now. Other fish like the Bala Sharks have a hard time recovering and often fail to do so.
Just keep doing what you're doing... for those that do recover the recovery is amazing! Hopefully everything will work out ok
