Seizures?

Today, my betta started twitching and bubbles came out of his body everywhere! Is that normal?

Also, Music still has tail rot. One day the tail will grow backa bit, and then the next day the tail will be extremely short again. I put in medicine and keep his tank very clean. Is that normal as well?

Have you noticed your Betta rubbing up against things? There might be a type of parasite hanging onto his sides, attacking him. My Koi had "seizures" and rubbed up against things when they had external parasites.

I don't know about the fin rot. It sounds an awful lot like what happened to Tenkiri, and I never could heal her. Sometimes you just can't save them. But I will keep my fingers crossed that Music gets well soon. (I'll even ask Ahi, Ku'uipo, Mali and Suchin to cross their fins for him! )

Don't say that...I don't want Music to die. I've really grown to love him!

He's not rubbing against anything ever. Lately he has been swimming less and less though...He just floats in the water...

You could try a medicine for parasites. There's one by Jungle called Parasite Clear. It comes in a tablet that you drop in and it fizzes. You might want to give it a shot. Fish can get parasites very easily so he may have some.

I'm sorry Millimi. I'm not trying to upset you. I don't want Music to die either.

I wasn't worried about Tenkiri, since I had always had success curing fin rot before, and since then. I should have been more vigilant and tried harder.

How is Music's behavior? Does he behave normal, despite the fin rot?

Yep, he does. Bubble nests are everywhere and he still flares at his reflection.

It's okay about what you said, I just don't want him to die. I didn't really get upset, but I'm worried.

Well, Tenkiri completely changed when her fins kept getting worse. I think Music will be fine, but that it'll take time. A medicine change may be in order. It should be kicking the fin rot's butt.

This is the second time I've changed medicine. At first it did kick butt, but not anymore. Do you suggest any medicines? The one I have now is called BettaFix Remedy by Splendid Betta.

I use Jungle products, most often. Best thing about Jungle medicines is that you can mix them... So if you're not sure if it's fungal or bacterial, you can throw in an anti-fungal and anti-bacterial with no side effects.

Can't recall what I used on my Betta's fin rot at the moment, though...

Yep, I love that about Jungle. I've been mixing the fugus clear with the parasite clear because I'm not sure whats going on with Libby. He lays on the bottom a lot and has no visible illness. I think its just old age, but I was treating for parasites just in case. One of my catfish who is in the same tank had a little fungus, but its gone now.

Millimi, how is Music doing?

Thanks for asking about Music. One part of his tail is getting very long, so I'm happy. And, no more twitching.
I've used Jungle products before, but they didn't seem to be helping at all after three weeks so I switched.
