will tank toys put algea back in the tank if they came from a used tank with algae?

I had a tank of goldfish that got rat seed spilled into it, the tank developed so much algae that it was on the toys and and the whole tank. I had to dump it out and start new. Ihave a new tank and was wondering since I wiped those objects clean would they still have algae remnants on them and ruin my new tank? I have 2 that I want to put back in.
Please help with this my fish have nothing to play around..

i suggest washing,no better yet scrubbing them down in the sink with hot water,soap and a fingernail brush just to be sure they do'nt put algea back in your tank.

you can wash them with deloute bleach and then let them sit in water for a few days changing it daily so it gets all the bleach off

Don't worry and don't bother with the bleach as long as you scrubbed them .

There are no algae "remnants"...the only way algae forms is if the conditions are right (usually it appears because of too much lighting and/or high nitrates).

Oh, yes, it is a good way of cleaning things . I just don't think it's needed in this situation...after all, it's an indoor tank that shouldn't get algae unless there are high nitrates or something.

plus bleach can be absorbed into the toys and can later leach out and kill your fish, i think that when you are cleaning tanks or toys that are in it, its always a good idea to just stay away from harsh chemicals.. even residues of soap a harmful
