Dr. Neunzig called today to tell me about a lady who is in the Battered Women's Shelter. She has 4 children and 2 boxers. The male is 4 and the female is 5 years old. Both are current on their Rabies shots. Bob says both dogs are great and deserve better than they were getting.
The BWS will not take pets so the woman had to leave the dogs when she fled with her children. The husband stopped feeding them and they were starving. Someone called AC and they took the dogs. The woman reclaimed the dogs so they would not be PTS because the Rabies shots had lapsed and the dogs would not be put up for adoption due the 6 month guideline at the shelter.
Bob has kept these dogs at no charge for 2 weeks, but it is the time of year that he will soon need the kennel space. He is asking algc to help find foster homes for these dogs until they can be adopted. The lady would like to be able to keep the male if someone would do a long term foster. If this is not possible, both dogs can go to good homes.
Please respond to this email if you know someone who may be interested or if you can take these dogs. Please cross post to other people if you think it will help find these dogs a home.
