The original post is deathly old, but as to the new person...
Ball pythons are notorious for being picky eaters. I have one who never did quite get the hang of switching over. If your bp is still young, I'd offer a fresh kill one to start with (because it still has the same smell) and invest in some tongs or a pair of pliers with really long handles. Wiggle the mouse, or leave the snake alone with the mouse you just killed for an hour or so. It should be gone if they're hungry. After it's reliably feeding on fresh kill, offer a mouse of the same size that is frozen. I had a boa that switched over within about 3 weeks! I'm currently working on a young boa switching to f/t rats. Ball pythons are a little bit of a different story. I tried switching my adult bp a couple months ago. He looked at me, the fresh kill gerbil, and had this supreme look of "What is this for?"
Good luck.
